Kara Marland: I think the original question is, ‘Why didn’t we put a lot [of] original artists onto this album?'”

When we talk about the studio lineup, there’s obviously some people who’d heard of the idea going after that project, and they’re sort of not sure what happened. We wanted to build a record with so many of the artists that we could do that sort of thing, and we wanted to tell us where the focus would be for us to be. That is one of the most difficult things to do, you know, just to do this big project at one artist. And this is the way it’s done: when you’re ready for that level of freedom, it gets you very far.

Grim Reaper, from the original Dead Island, says the project has “absolutely been a challenge to do. This is a place where we’re not always happy because we did it so long ago.”

Grim Reaper’s drummer Dan Evernie, who played with us on Mondo Island, admits he has never expected anything like it. He says that he’s always worried about giving up the show.

Evernie says this recording process had been “a roller coaster.” The album comes out on November 9th. We’re expecting to see everything in a year’s time and
